The San Francisco Giants had lost 8 straight against the Dodgers. They picked up a win tonight at Chavez Ravine with a 5-3 win over the hated Dogdger blue. Matt Morris pitched an excellent getting into the 8th inning. The Giants bullpen was a bit shaky but it was able to button things up and close the deal.
Armando Benitez pulled out his fifth save after two singles in the ninth. He is really showing that he is the closer the Giants expected...it just took a while. Hopefully, his strength and health can hold out for a full season. We'll see. So far things look good.
For those on the Barry Bonds watch - no homers tonight. Dave Roberts picked up a homer.
